In 2006, Rahasepa Mari called together women and men with Seto roots living in Põlva and formed the Põlva Seto Society. Soon after the first meetings, the members started singing Seto leelo together and thus the Ilolinõ leelo choir was born. All women have Seto roots even though we regularly meet in Põlva. The most important holidays for our choir are St. Michael’s Day, Easter, Pentecost, New Years’ and St. Mary’s Day. We come together to celebrate traditional Seto holidays and keep up the Seto community in Põlva.
